Our Commitment to Animal Welfare

At MD Biosciences, we are committed to ethical responsibility in animal welfare, ensuring the highest standards of care in preclinical research. As the first organization in Israel to successfully implement minipig rehoming, we are setting a new benchmark for responsible practices. Beyond our own initiatives, we support academic research aimed at improving animal welfare across the scientific community. Explore our resources to learn more about our ongoing efforts.

Marseille Declaration

MD Biosciences has signed the Marseille Declaration, the first joint pharmaceutical industry declaration on animal housing and use. This declaration represents a commitment to implementing high standards for animals housed and used internally and externally by the industry for scientific purposes.

Minipig Rehoming Program

We are proud to be at the forefront of developing rehoming practices for pigs in Israel. As the first organization in Israel to successfully rehome minipigs, we had the opportunity to present our program and national rehoming recommendations at ILAF 2024. These recommendations have now been officially accepted by the National Council, marking a significant step forward in animal welfare.

Enhancing Animal Welfare Through Targeted Training

At MD Biosciences, we enhance animal welfare by developing specific training and acclimatization programs that improve cooperation from the pigs, leading to better results and a more ethical approach to research.
